چکیده

The steady sliding state of periodic structures such as charge density waves and flux line lattices is numerically studied based on the three dimensional driven random field XY model. We focus on the dynamical phase transition between plastic flow and moving solid phases controlled by the magnitude of the driving force. By analyzing the connectivity of co-moving clusters, we find that they percolate the system within a finite observation time under driving forces larger than a certain critical force. The critical force, however, logarithmically diverges with the observation time, i.e. the moving solid phase exhibits only within a certain finite time, which exponentially grows with the driving force.

Dynamic Stability Analysis of a Beam Excited by a Sequence of Moving Mass Particles

In this paper, the dynamic stability analysis of a simply supported beam carrying a sequence of moving masses is investigated. Many applications such as motion of vehicles or trains on bridges, cranes transporting loads along their span, fluid transfer pipe systems and the barrel of different weapons can be represented as a flexible beam carrying moving masses. The periodical traverse of masses...

Safety Verification of Real Time Systems Serving Periodic Devices

In real-time systems response to a request from a controlled object must be correct and timely. Any late response to a request from such a device might lead to a catastrophy. The possibility of a task overrun, i.e., missing the deadline for completing a requested task, must be checked and removed during the design of such systems. Safe design of real-time systems running periodic tasks under th...

Study of flow and heat transfer characteristics in a periodic zigzag channel for cooling of polymer electrolyte fuel cells

In this study, a periodic zigzag channel with rectangular cross-section has been used in order to obtain a high-efficiency system for cooling a polymer electrolyte fuel cell. An appropriate function of fuel cells and enhancement of their lifetime require uniform temperature conditions of around 80°C. On the other hand, due to volume and weight constraints, a low-density compact heat exchanger i...

Nonlocal Dispersion Analysis of a Fluid – Conveying Thermo Elastic Armchair Single Walled Carbon Nanotube Under Moving Harmonic Excitation

In this work, the nonlocal elastic waves in a fluid conveying armchair thermo elastic single walled carbon nanotube under moving harmonic load is studied using Eringen nonlocal elasticity theory via Euler Bernoulli beam equation. The governing equations that contains partial differential equations for single walled carbon nanotube is derived by considering thermal and Lorenz magnetic force. The...
